On your mark, get set...

WITH only six more training days left, it’s time to lace up your joggers and hit the pavement.

Gladstone’s equivalent to Sydney’s City to Surf and San Francisco’s famous Bay to Breakers, The Botanic to Bridge is set to become another iconic event on the running calendar.

Registration for the August 22 event has topped 1000 participants for both the 8km and 3km events.

But don’t worry if you’re not in the league of Ben St Lawrence or Steve Moneghetti, Gladstone Ports Corporation CEO Leo Zussino said the Botanic to Bridge was not just about the elite athletes but focussed on everyday families to become more involved in healthier lifestyles.

“The inaugural Botanic to Bridge is our way of encouraging school children and their parents to get out and get active,” Mr Zussino said.

With cash and prizes worth $20,000 up for grabs there’s never been a better time to don those runners and get active.
