Baby Tannah Day could not wait for his aunty
LITTLE baby boy Tannah Day was born at Gladstone Hospital on Sunday to parents Alyssa Thomas and Jyda Day.
Tannah was born at 3.52pm, weighing six pounds three ounces, with the birth quicker than expected.
Alyssa's local family including 'Glamar' (her mother) and sisters Mia and Bianca were there ahead of time, but Tannah couldn't wait for third sister Carly's arrival.
It was a call from 'Glamar' to tell Carly that Alyssa was in labour that sparked a mad dash from the Gold Coast to make it in time.
"I was at the lights, like five minutes away, when they told me he wasn't waiting and was being born," Carly Thomas said.
Younger sister Mia said she was loving seeing the new baby.
"I get a day off school to be here too," she said.
The Thomas family couldn't be happier for the birth of the first grandson.
While the couple said Tannah was a big surprise, he is very much loved.
"We decided to find out the gender most definitely," Ms Thomas said.
"My little man is going to have everything, and the rest."
Tannah has two older half-brothers to keep him protected and teach him how to kick a football.
"He has Kruze who is three years old and Roman Day who is two," Mr Day said.
The two brothers have already been in to see the newest addition.
"The boys were a bit funny with him," Mr Day said of his sons.
"They could see he was so little and probably thinking, how do you hold him?"
Ms Thomas' room was filled with flower bouquets that she would be taking home when she left.
