NSW: State of Origin game two player ratings

Josh Dugan - 7 ½ Didn't reach the heights of his game one heroics, but scored the winning try.

Brett Morris - 6 Not a huge involvement, but didn't do anything wrong either.

Josh Morris - 8 Scored a beautiful try in 26th minute to leap high for a Mitchell Pearce cross-field kick and somehow get the ball down with his left hand, despite plenty of opposition.

Michael Jennings - 9 Great speed and footwork to score the first try of the match. Couple of breaks followed, showing up veteran Justin Hodges. His best Origin game for a long time.

Will Hopoate - 6 Good cover tackle on Greg Inglis saved a try, but he was too far back in defence when Inglis responded with a try in the first half. Some good yards on right flank.

Mitchell Pearce - 8 Nice cross-field kick led to Josh Morris try. Played with much more authority in this match compared to game one. One of his best Origin games.

Trent Hodkinson - 7 Linked up well with Pearce for NSW's second try. Solid general kicking and goal-kicking game, showing his renowned calmness.

James Tamou - 7 Nice offload set up Jennings try to start the match in the Blues' favour. Terrific in defence as well

Robbie Farah - 7 ½ Good kicking game from dummy-half, in particular one that forced a Will Chambers error in the 50th minute. More than 40 tackles as usual.

Aaron Woods - 8 ½ Scored a try to put NSW up 20-18 by powering over Billy Slater and Matt Scott. Plenty of involvement with a high tackle rate and yardage game.

Beau Scott - 5 Didn't see much of him, with the young Blues forwards dominating the evening.

Ryan Hoffman - 8 Made 90m before being collected high by Hodges in the first half. Great courage to return to the action. Was reliable for the entire game.

Paul Gallen - 8 A typical Gallen Origin effort despite picking up a rib injury in the first half. Provided the leadership New South Wales missed in game one.

Interchange:

Trent Merrin - 7 Thrust into the game early after Gallen injury and nice offload led to a bust down left side soon afterwards. Made 27 tackles and deservedly got more game time compared to game one.

Boyd Cordner - 6 Probably the quietest of the four Blues bench players, although a quick play-the-ball led to a penalty goal for his team late in first half

David Klemmer - 7 Very aggressive off the bench. Clearly the face of the Blues' future. Never takes a backward step.

Josh Jackson - 6 Good defence in 20m zone in 45th and 46th minutes to keep the Maroons at bay, with some consecutive tackles. Rattled Thurston late.
