Bulldogs' signing adds insult to Tigers' loss

CANTERBURY has announced the signing of Wests Tigers forward Sauaso Sue, hours after knocking the rival club  out of the finals race.

The Samoan international will link with the Bulldogs in 2019, becoming Dean Pay's first forward recruit since the salary cap scandal broke at the start of the season.

Wide World of Sports reports Sue will move straight into the Bulldogs' best 17, with the club still expected to lose more stars on its 2018 roster because of its salary cap issues.

The Bulldogs have already lost stars Moses Mbye and Aaron Woods, ande star twins Josh Morris (Cronulla) and Brett Morris (Roosters) have also announced they will be moving on at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, a dream farewell is not yet dashed for Tigers greats Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah.

Fox Sports reporter James Hooper told Triple M NRL the Tigers would offer both of the 2005 premiership-winners new contracts for the 2019 season - if the players decide to play one final season next year.

Hooper said the pair had played so well in 2018 that the ball was in their court.

"I think the club is more than happy to have them for another 12 months if they decide they want to play on," Hooper said.
