Non-stop to Sydney

NEW direct flights connecting Gladstone to Sydney are set to ease the pressure of flight shortages at Gladstone Regional Airport.

Yesterday QantasLink executive John Gissing made the announcement, which will give Gladstone residents access to the direct two-hour flight to Sydney from March 4 next year.

The new QantasLink service will operate eight return flights a week. The new service equates to 1200 seats a week. The announcement coincides with the introduction of a new QF400 plane to the QantasLink fleet in Gladstone.

QantasLink has launched a special one-way introductory fare of $79 for travel from March 4 to August 31 next year.

The special fare is available this week.
