Nominations flow in for golf day

THE Rotary Club of Gladstone Midday is gearing up for the 33rd Annual Motor Traders Golf Day next Wednesday at the Gladstone Golf Club.

Motor Traders Golf Day event secretary David Lyons said nominations were steady for the annual fundraiser. However, he expected more to flow over the next week.

“We are asking golfers to be on course by about 8.30am for a shotgun start at 9.30am,” Lyons said.

“Included in your nomination fee is complimentary tea, coffee and sandwiches for breakfast as well as a steak burger at lunch time,” he said.

“Through the generous support of our community, we have raised more than $200,000 over the years with all funds spent within our district.

“This year we have about $3000 in prizes up for grabs.”

The Motor Traders Golf Day is one of the highlights of the local sporting calendar and is open to all players regardless of their level or lack of, golfing experience.

“We are looking forward to seeing all our regular supporters back on the course and are encouraging the community support this great local fundraiser,” Lyons said.

The nomination fee for the three-person Ambrose remains unchanged from last year at $25 per player.

Entry forms can be obtained from either the Gladstone Golf Club Pro Shop or David Lyons at 174 Goondoon Street (next to L.J. Hooker) or by contacting Jeff Osborne on his mobile 0438 685 639.

“We look forward to seeing you on the course to help make this day as thoroughly enjoyable and beneficial to our community as it has been for the past three decades and more (32 years),” Lyons said.
