No more late nights at library

LATE nights at the library on Thursdays have been called off.

Gladstone Regional Council has been trialling the late nights at Boyne and Gladstone libraries to make up for the Sunday closures. Yesterday was the last trial day.

The highest number of visitors at Gladstone on a Thursday was 24, and nine at Boyne.

"It is therefore not considered to be a viable proposition to continue to offer a late Thursday night opening...," Mayor Gail Sellers said.

"The decision taken by council was a difficult one based on a commitment council had given to deliver cost savings across council operations."
