Urraween web-based businessman may get connected

AN Urraween web-based businessman, digitally stranded for weeks because Telstra does not have an internet line available for him, still has a chance of getting connected.

He just doesn't know when.

Neil Coningham lives in a new estate in Hervey Bay but has been unable to connect to the internet due to the lack of ports.

A Telstra spokeswoman said the ADSL ports changed over time with demand.

"If due to intensive demand ports are not available in a specific location the provider should place the customer on a waiting list to be contacted once a port becomes available," she said.
