No Irish joke for brawlers

THIS Irishman is going out with a bang.

Fly-in, fly-out worker Jason Ryan McNabb got into a fight with his mate Aaron James Walsh after getting the boot from the Reef Hotel on June 24.

Police prosecutor Nina Sulzor said the throwdown occurred in full view of the public.

She added that many crossed the road to avoid the pair.

Security guards separated McNabb and Walsh.

When the police arrived Walsh was slouched against a brick wall.

Both had blood on their clothing.

McNabb's lawyer Stacey O'Gorman said her client was leaving Australia in a month.

She added that he would change his ways.

"He'll cease living up to the stereotype of a drunken Irishman."

McNabb was fined $900 and Walsh $750. Both are banned from the Reef Hotel for six months.

They pled guilty yesterday in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.
