No date set on Stockland build

RUMOURS are flying that construction of the Stockland expansion kicks off next month.

But Stockland senior media relations manager Greg Spears said the company was still working through some design modifications for the $150 million redevelopment, and any news would be announced in the coming months.

The expansion was set to start in October last year as a staged development, bringing the floor space up to 45,000sqm with up to 160 stores, compared to the Rockhampton Stockland which has 170 shops.

The Gladstone expansion is expected to generate more than 650 jobs during construction.
