No bull, it was a super event

RODEO: They came in their hundreds to witness some top-class bull riding at the Miriam Vale Rodeo on the weekend.

Although not as many bull riders competed as in previous years, the quality was higher and the crowd was also thrilled with the Bareback and Saddled Bronc categories.

Jessica Ferris, whose children competed in several events, enjoyed the day, which culminated with brand new lights taking effect and that made for a enjoyable viewing experience.

"The clowns were pretty good and they do a good job," she said.

"We get a good laugh out of them.

"It's always a great atmosphere at the rodeo and I've been going since I was young and my husband rode rodeo there when he was young."

Rider Tyler Morgan showed courage after his bull fell on him in the chute.

Fortunately he was not injured and he showed great fortitude to return to compete in the final ride of the evening.
