New shopping centre proposal
A PROPOSED shopping complex on Kirkwood Road will be one of the many items before a Gladstone Regional Council meeting today.
The proposal includes a medical centre, commercial premises, food premises, service station and chemical storage on Lot 2 Kirkwood Road.
There will also be a proposed residential estate of 592 lots in total, including 91 lots for the first stage of the development, in Glen Eden.
Council has received a development application for the material change of use for residential development and reconfiguration of a lot in relation to the Glen Eden project.
A letter from the Local Government Association of Queensland in reference to the 114th annual conference in Mackay, August 30 to September 2, will also be tabled.
Another letter about the Queensland Pest Animal Symposium to be held in Gladstone on August 3 to 5 has been listed on the meeting's agenda.
There will be reports tabled, including one on the nomination of representatives for Native Title Claim proceedings, an internal audit, proposed trustee lease to the Bororen Pony Club and a proposed street name for an unnamed road reserve located off Coast Road at Baffle Creek.
A report by the finance department on Cationic emulsion, which is a type of bitumen seal, has also been listed on the agenda.
Under the Director of Planning's reports, there will be a report tabled about amendments to the Gladstone City Council and Calliope Shire Council Planning Schemes under the Sustainable Planning Act.
Under the Director of Infrastructure Services, there will be a report tabled about three tenders for building projects.
