New Power teams

GLADSTONE Port City Power womens' coach Ray Cooper is under no illusion his team has a fight on its hands against reigning premiers Rockhampton Cyclones on Saturday night.

The hosts have an experienced side which is bolstered with Opals player Alice Kunek who is a 'fill-in' player while the club waits for its imports.

"Rocky have most of its grand final team from last year," Cooper said.

The Power will be led by captain Maddy Willey with experienced Char Mellars, Markel Williams and Hailey Moala as part of the leadership group.

"We pretty much have to focus on each quarter and have a very young team, and I expect Maddy and Char to lead the way with their experience," Cooper said.

Tip-off is from 6pm.
