New man looking for more after poor start

NEW Bronco Anthony Milford says he isn't feeling any pressure to be a game-breaker, but admits he has to play a lot better than he did in his debut loss against South Sydney.

The softly spoken five-eighth said he let the game get away from him, and also did not kick well, despite some pre-game tuition from former club great Darren Lockyer.

Milford, just one of several players who went missing against the red-hot Rabbitohs, acknowledged the game wasn't one of his best.

"I was honestly a little bit disappointed in myself," the 20-year-old said.

"I was a little slow to start and waited for things to come to me - usually I go after things.

"I think this week (against Cronulla) I am going to try get to some early touches and get my head in the game."

Brisbane captain Justin Hodges, who admitted panic crept into some of the Broncos' play, said people should give Milford a little space and time.

"Everyone is putting so much pressure on the kid, I just want to see him relax and play some football," he said.

"Every time you pick up a paper you read how good he is and what he is going to do.

"The first few times I played against him I said 'this guy is going to be a superstar', and I have no doubt the way he trains and prepares himself he will be a superstar one day.

"There's just no easy game when you play for this club because everyone wants to play against us.

"He just have to be given the time to find his feet."
