Juniors set for fun at Hoopstars

OCTOBER is hoop month for juniors at Kev Broome Stadium, as Port City Power coach Blair Smith is holding court with the Hoopstars program every Sunday.

The popular program runs for three hours, from 9am-noon, and kids will be run ragged and also have a lot of fun.

The three-hour session focuses on training, games, craft and other basketball-related activities. Basketball has gained popularity once again as a sport, and is a great way for kids to learn eye-to-hand co-ordination and teamwork.

Hoopstars is suitable for kids aged between 5 and 12.

Starting October 10 and running for four weeks until October 31, the Hoopstars initiative allows kids to practice the basketball skills they know in a fun way, or pick up tricks they want to learn.

At a cost of $40, each participant will get a free basketball, T-shirt and healthy snack.

Bookings can be made by calling Blair Smith on 0422 873 637 or email blair.smith@basketballqld.net.au.
