Great time to be a kid with top shows coming to town

IT'S never been a better time to be a kid in Gladstone, with a string of fantastic children's shows coming to the city.

The Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre is putting on shows such as The Deep, Pete The Sheep, The 13-Storey Treehouse, Peppa Pig, Gruffalo and Wombat Stew.

The shows are a mix of musicals, sing-a-longs, puppet shows, comedy and plays based on books.

Most of the shows are part of the 2014 School's Program, and tickets are reasonably priced for adults and children alike.

Classic children's book Wombat Stew is set in the Aussie bush and equipped with a few well-crafted props, including a free-standing caravan, a couple of gum trees, a gallon drum, and even a clothes line.

It's performed by a cast of six highly entertaining singers and dancers, and is well-suited for children aged 2-8 years.
