Need to de-clutter? Garage Sale Trail is coming

GARAGE Sale Trail is coming to Gladstone, offering the chance to snap up some bargains, de-clutter, or just get to know your neighbours.

Four years after starting in Bondi Beach, Garage Sale Trail has grown throughout Australia with hundreds of thousands of participants taking part annually.

Gladstone Regional Council is supporting Gladstone's Garage Sale Trail on October 25, and is encouraging residents, schools, community groups, charities and organisations to jump on board and register for free at www.garagesaletrail.com.au.

Gladstone Mayor Gail Sellers said the trail offered residents the perfect opportunity to sell their unwanted goods, make some cash and make neighbourly connections.

"Residents can put their 'sale on the trail' and list key items, and upload photos of their big ticket items," Cr Sellers said.

"Buyers can search for sales nearby and create a personalised 'treasure trail' of sales and items to check out on their mobile phone on the day."

Cr Sellers said passing on unwanted items to someone else was a good form of waste reduction, while also making sustainability fun and social.

"It would be great to see neighbourhoods work together to sell their goods," she said.
