Woman fined after nearly hitting kids in crash

A WOMAN who ploughed towards two school-aged children after slamming her accelerator instead of her brakes was yesterday sentenced in Gladstone Magistrates Court.

Veer Preet Sidhu faced one charge of driving without a licence and an additional charge of driving without due care and attention.

On November 10 on Roberts St in South Gladstone, Ms Sidhu was trying to switch off her hazard lights when she became distracted.

After attempting to pull over, she instead propelled her vehicle 100m forward, towards two primary school-aged children.

No one was injured. Ms Sidhu was fined $600.
