The Nationals Leader tours major infrastructure projects
NATIONALS leader Warren Truss spent day one of his two-day visit to Gladstone learning about the strain the industrial sector is having on the region.
The Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, and Federal Member for Flynn Ken O'Dowd spent Thursday morning touring major infrastructure projects including an aerial tour of the Curtis Island gas plants.
They also visited Bindaree Aged Care facility on Boyne Island, the Calliope crossroads and the Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal.
"Gladstone remains one of the hotspots of industrial activity in our country," Mr Truss said.
"There are obviously stresses and strains on the community and one of the purposes of my visit is to look at how, in fact, governments can assist to make sure there is adequate infrastructure to service these exciting new developments."
Mr Truss will wrap up his two-day tour of the region today.
