National Disability Insurance Scheme information session

PEOPLE with a disability and their carers will be offered an explanation on how the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will impact their lives tomorrow.

The Endeavour Foundation will bring experts to Gladstone for a free two-and-a-half-hour information session at the Harvey Road Tavern.

Julie Steffen's sister Katie, lives with a disability in Tannum Sands and would benefit from the NDIS when it is rolled out in July 2016.

She said people should attend the information session because they don't know what to expect when it is available.

"It will offer people with individualized plans for people with disabilities and their carers," she said.

"We're pretty lucky with Katie because she lives with mum. But if something happened to mum and Katie had to move into a shared house, she would need assistant with carers.

"She could do that with the NDIS and still be independent."

The information session starts at 10am at the Harvey Road Tavern for more information call the Endeavour Foundation on 1800 634 040 or visit http://ndis.endeavour.com.au
