PINBALL wizards are converging on the only licensed venue in Gladstone which owns a retro machine.

Transforming Central Lane Hotel into a sports bar has been a labour of love for licensee Rick Adams.

The X-files feature on the machine, and it was certainly a drawcard for Mr Adams, who admits he is a David Duchovny fan.

"We are very proud to have the largest collection of sporting memorabilia in Gladstone," he said.

"And when our second pinball machine arrives we are hoping to host a novelty pinball competition."

The '90s-style machine is only one element of a theme growing in the popular family bistro on Yarroon St.
