Mustering up support for an Urban stopover

DOES anyone have a private jet we can loan Keith Urban?

Gympie Music Muster executive director David Gibson admits he is forever the optimist.

"If we can get someone to loan us a private jet, there's a small window there on Saturday and Sunday to get Keith out here," he said.

A social media campaign last week to include the Muster on Keith Urban's tour reached more than 41,000 people in less than 48 hours, with 136 comments and 151 shares.

The campaign encouraged fans of the Muster to post on Urban's twitter feed or Facebook page using the hashtag #BringKeithtothe35thGympieMuster.

Should Keith Urban perform at the Gympie Music Muster?

This poll ended on 22 January 2016.

Current Results

Absolutely! I'd love to see him perform at the Gympie Music Muster.

85%

No. I won't be disappointed if he's not there.

4%

I'll have a good time at the Muster whether he's there or not.

9%

This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.

The bulk of the comments showed overwhelming support for the idea, however Urban's tour dates reveal he is performing in the US during Muster weekend - except for the Friday, which would be Saturday night our time.

"I'm an optimist. I'd like to think it's possible," Mr Gibson said.

The Gympie Music Muster will celebrate its 35th year this year.

Beccy Cole has already been signed as the official Muster ambassador, taking over the role from Adam Brand and local product Caitlyn Shadbolt.

In addition to trying to bring Urban to the Muster - where the country star performed on several occasions before moving to the US in 1992 - Mr Gibson said organisers were "toying with visual things".

"It's all designed to bring people back to the Muster."
