Mum surprised twice
MUM Jessica Ryan had two surprises in 48 hours when she went into labour hours after leaving her surprise birthday party.
Jessica was a week past her due date and had expected baby girl Violet to be one of the guests.
Instead, the family narrowly escaped having to celebrate the two milestones on one day.
"We had sunset drinks and nibbles down at the yacht club," Jessica said.
"It was lovely - and it was still a surprise, even though (my partner) Jade had to tell me there would be a party because I hadn't had the baby yet."
After leaving the party the pair went home and headed to bed only to be woken at 3.30am when Jessica was surprised to find her waters had broken.
Baby Violet was born in April 21, at 11.28am at Gladstone Hospital; the fourth daughter in the family.
Now as the only man in the house Jade --- who grew up with brothers --- is heavily out numbered although Jessica says he hasn't curled up and started shaking in the corner yet.
"It takes a special man to raise four daughters and Jade is truly wonderful with them.
"Already Violet is fitting perfectly into our lives. She's really big, but also really quiet and calm. She's so relaxed and her sisters already love her dearly."
