Multiple small grass fires burn across the region

A NUMBER of small grass fires were burning in the region on Wednesday.

Bororen: Queensland Fire Service was alerted to a small grass fire in Bororen at 7.20pm after someone noticed it from their backyard.

The fire was located across from the train tracks and south of the rest area.

Firefighters had extinguished the fire and left the scene by 7.58pm.

Clinton:  At 4.54pm QFS were called after smoke was reported behind Clinton State School.

There was a small area of grass on fire that firefighters had under soon extinguished, leaving the scene at 5.18pm.

Glen Eden : At 2.21pm a small fire in a washway at Glen Eden in Gladstone was reported to the QFS.

Two civilian men were on the scene trying to extinguish the patch.

A crew from the Gladstone Fire Station arrived, extinguished the fire, dampened the ground heavily and left the scene at 2.38pm.
