Police say speed may have been factor in Glenview fatalities

UPDATE: INITIAL investigations into a triple fatality at Glenview last night have shown speed might be a factor.

A 30-year-old woman, who was driving, died at the scene.

Her seven-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son also died.

The woman's four-year-old daughter is in a serious condition at Royal Brisbane Hospital and 11-year-old son remains at Nambour General Hospital with minor injuries.

Acting Superintendent John Boznjak said police were called to the scene on Mooloolah Connection Rd, about 200m from the intersection with Steve Irwin Wy, about 9pm.

"It appears that speed might be a factor, we do have forensic crash officers investigating the fatality at the moment and they will be returning back to the scene today to undertake some more investigations," he said.

"There are several factors we are looking at, particularly speed, they are awaiting toxicology reports which will take some time to establish if there is anything in that regard to look at.

"The road itself is not a road of concern, it is an 80 zone.

"There were three children from what we understand in the rear of the vehicle, two of those children have died. It appears seatbelts could be an issue there."

Act Supt Boznjak said police were also investigating whether the four-year-old was in appropriate seating.

SATURDAY: Police have confirmed a 4-year-old girl is currently in a critical condition, while a 30-year-old female, a 7-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were killed in a car accident at Glenview last night.

An 11-yr-old boy who was also in the vehicle has minor injuries
