Multiple crews battle bush blaze near Mount Morgan

UPDATE 6.30PM: FIRE crews are still at the scene of a large fire at Moongan near Mount Morgan.

 

 

QFRS is confirmed that the fire is near Wyvills Rd.   The cause of the fire could not be confirmed.   Fire fighters are back burning the area to control the fire and will begin fire bombing this evening.  

 

BREAKING 2PM: Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews are working to contain a blaze at Moongan near Mount Morgan.

Initial reports suggest the large grass fire on Razorback Rd is covering two fronts and is on hilly terrain.

Crews at the scene are requesting further assistance.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution and to conditions.

Residents should close windows and doors, and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.

If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call 000 immediately.
