UPDATE: Highway reopens after multi-vehicle crash

UPDATE: The eastbound lanes of the Warrego Hwy have reopened after a crash involving two vehicles this afternoon.

One person was taken to Toowoomba Hospital by the Queensland Ambulance Service in a stable condition suffering rib pain and abrasions.

The highway was closed for more than an hour as emergency services worked to clear debris.

EARLIER: Emergency services are responding to a three-vehicle crash on the eastbound lanes of the Warrego Hwy just east of Toowoomba.

Several motorists have reported the crash, which occurred about 3.30pm near the intersection of the Warrego Hwy and Murphys Creek Rd.

There are reports of injuries and substantial debris on the highway.

Both eastbound lanes of the Warrego Hwy have been closed.
