Mr Monopoly is putting Queensland on the board
REGIONAL Queensland and New South Wales have been left off the board as the makers of iconic game Monopoly on Tuesday announced a Brisbane edition would be released later this year.
In a statement, the creators of the customised board game said Queenslanders would be able to enjoy playing this new edition "on Brisbane's iconic streets and landmarks".
The top-hatted Mr Monopoly was on hand at South Bank to help with the announcement, along with national champion Tony Shaw.
The makers have now put out the call for Brisbane residents to nominate key locations, streets or landmarks to feature on the board in place of the London's luxurious Mayfair or working class Baltic Avenue.
There is already passionate debate on what Brisbane suburbs, streets or icons should be included, from Festival Hall, Lang Park to South Bank, and Stefan's Skyneedle.
Others are calling for the State Library, Customs House and the Gallery of Modern Art to be included.
