Motorists warned of possbile delays on Derby St

MOTORISTS should be wary of possible delays on Derby Street, in front of South State Primary School, from 6pm on Wednesday until 6am Thursday while school zone treatment works are carried out.

The council's engineering services portfolio spokesperson councillor Rick Hansen said these works were being carried out as part of a co-funded program between Gladstone Regional Council and the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

"As part of the program, Council officers will implement school zone safety improvements throughout the Gladstone Region, as approved by the Traffic Environment Advisory Committee, including the Derby Street site" Cr Hansen said.

"Throughout the duration of the works motorists are encouraged to avoid accessing Derby Street via the Toolooa Street intersection."

"Traffic disruptions will be kept to a minimum but delays and detours are possible."

The council apologies for any inconvenience the works may cause.
