Three taken to hospital after Marcoola crash

UPDATE: A MAN has been freed from the wreckage of a Marcoola crash after being trapped for about an hour.

 

Emergency services were called to David Low Way near Sunshine Coast Airport at 4.22pm.

It took firefighters until about 5.30pm to free the man after hydraulic cutting tools were used to cut the roof off a station wagon in which he was trapped.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man suffered fractures to his legs and was taken to Nambour General Hospital in a serious condition.

Paramedics also treated a woman for chest injuries before she was taken in a serious condition to the same hospital.

A woman, 50, was also taken to hospital in stable condition.

Hydraulic cutting tools have used to cut the roof from a station wagon involved in the two-car crash.

David Low Way has been blocked in both directions near Sunshine Coast Airport.

Traffic is being diverted around the scene.
