Man critical after rolling vehicle several times

UPDATE: A 49-year-old man has been airlifted to the Princes Alexandra Hospital after a serious traffic crash at Grantham.

Police were conducting patrols along Lawlers Rd about 8.45pm when they saw a white van travelling on the incorrect side of the road towards them.

They were forced to take evasive action by pulling off the roadway to avoid impact with the van.

Police performed a u-turn however had lost sight of the vehicle before once again coming across it a short distance away.

The vehicle appeared to have rolled several times before becoming stationary on the railway line between Ditchman's Rd and Gatton-Helidon Rd.

The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

EARLIER: A man has been seriously injured after the vehicle in which he was travelling overturned at Grantham.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said crews were called to a car on the railway line at 8.50pm yesterday.

The man was airlifted from the scene and taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
