A YOUNG man stepped into a wild 10-person street brawl in order to help a mate who was set upon, a court heard.

Eighteen-year-old Mason Donny Roberts pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on Wednesday to one count of public nuisance as the facts of his offending were read aloud.

A GLADSTONE woman caught growing marijuana told a court she only grew the drug because the morphine she was taking was “killing her.”

Amanda Jane Edwards, 61, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday to producing drugs and possessing anything used in the commissioning of a crime.

IT IS NOT everyday someone gets to celebrate their 100th birthday, but Elvie Brown reached the significant milestone earlier this week.

Mrs Brown was surrounded by her daughter Beth, carers and Mayor Matt Burnett when she celebrated her birthday at New Auckland Place on Tuesday.
