A man accused of the Calliope double axe murder in 2018 has had his case delayed once again after it was adjourned in Gladstone Magistrates Court today.

John Bircsak, 66, was charged with two counts of murder after two bodies - a woman, 60 and a man, 63 - were discovered at Calliope Caravan Park on December 6, 2018.

A GLADSTONE man tried to grab a police officer’s arm while he was being arrested.

Raymond Edward Little, 33, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to obstructing police.

GLADSTONE Regional Council took another step in the fight against illegal dumpers by appointing a representative to a waste management advisory committee today.

Councillor Rick Hansen, whose portfolio includes environmental matters within GRC, was voted unanimously onto the Local Authorities Waste Management Advisory Committee.

THE KIRKWOOD drive-in movies last weekend have been hailed a success with a total of 222 cars attending.

Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon were all sold out events with 80 cars at the night sessions and 30 in the afternoon.

GLENN Butcher MP visited Global Manufacturing Group in Gladstone this morning to unveil a revolutionary jewel in the region’s industrial production crown.

Mr Butcher, a fitter and turner by trade, unveiled funding of $257,167 from the Queensland Government’s Manufacturing Hubs Grant Program for GMG while touring the facility.
