More storms could be on way as hundreds still without power
MORE thunderstorms could be coming today and tomorrow after a night of heavy rain, wind and power outages across the region.
According to Weatherzone.com, the Bundaberg area has a 90% chance of rain today and thunderstorms are expected.
According to the weather site, there will be possible thunderstorms tomorrow, with clearing and possible showers expected until Sunday when the skies return to being sunny.
Temperatures are set to hit 32 degrees on Sunday.
The major impact is in the area north of Childers, where about 430 customers in Redridge, Doolbi, Horton, Abington and neighbouring areas are without power.
More than 100 customers in South Isis and Horton also are affected, along with 63 in Isis Central.
Dozens of calls also have come in this morning from Childers and the Isis district from customers with faults affecting their individual power supply.
These customers typically were part of a larger power supply interruption last night, so were not aware of the individual fault until this morning when the power was back on to other customers in their area.
There have also been a few calls from individual customers in the Bundaberg district.
Repairs are still required to the high-voltage network to reinstate supply to about 40 customers at Innes Park and eight each in Fairymead and Rosedale.
Ergon Energy is advising customers that it will be until tonight before they can complete the restoration of power to all customers and thank everyone for their patience and understanding as crews work to reinstate supply.
Customers without power this morning, especially where their neighbours have power, should telephone Ergon on 13 22 96.
