20 Daniel Morcombe 'suspects'

MORE than 20 persons of interest will be interviewed at the coronial inquest into the abduction and suspected murder of Sunshine Coast teen Daniel Morcombe.

It is believed the inquest will take place towards the end of the year and will be held at the Maroochydore Court House.

A series of meetings have been held between state coroner, Michael Barnes, and Daniel's parents, Bruce and Denise Morcombe.

The Morcombes have also recevied a brief of evidence, revealing closely guarded secrets of the police investigation into Daniel's disappearance.

Mr Morcombe said all parties were committed to finding answers.

"We have been fully briefed on procedural matters and provided with much of the comprehensive brief handed to the state coroner by Queensland Police Service's officers in charge of the investigation, code-named Operation Vista," Mr Morcombe said.

"Our family remains hopeful that a hearing will take place before the end of the year.

"No stone will be left unturned and some of the sharpest legal minds in Queensland and our familywould welcome this opportunity to crack the case."

Daniel, 13, disappeared from under the Kiel Mountain Overpass on the Nambour Connection Road in December, 2003.

No trace of Daniel has ever been found.
