Monster trucks thrill fans

MORE than 3500 petrol heads turned out on Saturday night to witness the spectacle of monster trucks and speedway action at the Gladstone Showgrounds.

Promoter Clive Featherby was pleased with how the night went, despite a few “teething” issues.

“On the very first outing of the night one of the monster trucks was damaged – the crowd loved that,” he said.

The fireworks were a huge success and, if noise complaints are anything to go by, exceptionally loud.

“There were 19 noise complaints about the fireworks, but we’d promised they’d be big.

“A window on one of the fun cars was cracked by the noise,” he said.
