Miriam Vale Library closed for a week for relocation
Miriam Vale Library will be closed for a week, from Monday, August 10.
Library staff will be busy moving all resources from Roe Street to new premises at the Miriam Vale Administration Centre, at 41 Blomfield Street.
Gladstone Regional Council's arts and culture portfolio spokesperson Cr Ren Lanzon said the library would open for business again on Tuesday, August 18.
"Visitors to the library can expect extra room and new resources, including an iPad loan service and a dedicated computer room," Cr Lanzon said.
"Residents are reminded that entry to the library will be via Blomfield Street, due to recent changes to the building entrance to accommodate the library."
The new library will be officially opened at a public event during Children's Book Week, on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 25.
A celebration cake, refreshments and tours of the library will be on offer.
Children will parade from Miriam Vale State School to the library dressed as their favourite storybook character.
