Motorist lucky to survive single-vehicle smash near Marburg

A TEENAGE driver was trapped in his car after his vehicle skidded off the road, and landed upside down.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the upturned wreckage at 5.17pm on Monday.

The single-vehicle crash took place on the Warrego Hwy in Marburg near Edmond St.

The 19-year-old male driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle on the wet road.

The wreck saw the man crushed in his car.

He was extracted from his vehicle with the assistance of fire crews and transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

None of his injuries were life-threatening.

Lanes were shut down on the Warrego Hwy until the vehicle was towed away and the scene was cleared at 8.26pm.

The forensic crash unit is investigating the incident.
