Mills back in town

AUSSIE RULES: It has been an adventurous ride for BITS Saints ruckman Jacob Mills and there will be no bigger test than taking on Yeppoon Swans gun Jamie Garner this afternoon.

The top-of-the-table clash will offer both a mental and physical test for the men from BITS against the mighty Swannies who have not been defeated this season and are aiming for a hat-trick of flags.

Mills returned from playing AFL in the US to lead the ruck in his comeback match against Rockhampton Kangaroos.

And he did not miss a beat with marks across half-back and he was essentially an extra midfielder, much like Swan Garner.

Mills played for the San Diego Lions in the six-team Southern California League and he described it as 'different'.

"It was a good experience and and it is as not as competitive as here, but it's good to see the United States boys having a go," Mills said.

As his BITS team-mates were about to belt out another victory song, Mills told the Observer last week that he wanted to experience something different.

"It was different and a different culture and experience and getting around different clubs and environment basically," he said.

Saints assistant coach and president Andrew McMahon said there will be two key match-ups.

"I think that will be between Garner and Mills and the other will be between Steve Pugh and Yeppoon's Matt Wallin," he said.

Forward Jack Rubery is expected to return as will utility Jack Grainger and Dale Clarke.

Kane Haua will miss due to representative duties. Meanwhile it's basically an elimination final between Gladstone Mudcrabs and Rockhampton Kangaroos in Rocky.

A win to either team will put it in pole position for fourth spot and a finals berth.
