METEORS women head to Rockhampton this weekend to play the Wanderers in the last round of fixtures before the hockey finals start.

The women's team is sitting in second place and can't be knocked out of the finals even if the game doesn't go their way.

The Meteors men's team was sitting in second place until they lost against Park Avenue Brothers at the weekend.

They have a chance to hold on to fourth place if the results go their way. Sparks, which are now sitting in third place after suffering a defeat to Rockhampton Souths, play Frenchville.

And if the Sparks emerge victorious, the Meteors will stay in fourth. If not, Frenchville moves into fourth place.

Preliminary finals start next weekend.
