UPDATE: IT WAS 90 seconds of terror.

Three men wearing black masks storm their way into a Gowrie Junction convenience store, one armed with a sawn-off shotgun, another with a handgun.

They shout at the 17-year-old man working the late Sunday night shift at the Gowrie One Stop Convenience Centre to drop to the ground and not move.

CCTV footage shows the teen does just that before two men jump the counter of the Old Homebush Rd store about 7.45pm on Sunday.

The two who leap effortlessly over the counter are armed - one with a sawn-off shotgun, the other brandishing a silver handgun.

A third offender in a white-hooded jumper throws a black backpack over the counter to the man with the handgun wearing a grey hooded jumper who fills the bag with cigarettes and other items.

The man with the shotgun wearing a blue hooded jumper empties the cash from the till into another black backpack.

The 17-year-old store employee lies on the floor out of the camera's frame while another worker, 35, raises the alarm after disappearing out the back of the store.

The workers were not physically injured in the incident.

The terrifying robbery lasts just 90 seconds, with the offenders timing the incident to coincide with the store's closing which managers said had never before been targeted.

Footage shows the offenders quickly filling the two bags with stolen goods including a charity collection tin raising funds for cancer research.

One brazen offender turns back into the shop and casually takes a drink from the fridge to the left of the shop's doors.

Toowoomba Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating the terrifying incident which has rocked the Gowrie Junction community.

Investigators are also appealing for any information regarding a white coloured, dual cab ute seen outside the shop about the time of the incident.

Police are seeking to talk to the driver of the ute which was seen to drive past the store on Gowrie Tilgonda Rd at 7.44pm, before turning around.

The vehicle then drove slowly past the shop before going around the roundabout back past the store.

Officers believe the driver may be able to assist with investigations into the armed robbery.
