Men fined $1000 after big brawl outside Boyne Maccas

TWO men who were involved in a large brawl at Boyne Island McDonald's restaurant on March 2 have ended up in court.

Rhys Geoffrey Cooke and Callum Graeme Wilson faced Gladstone Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on charges of affray.

The pair was confronted by another, larger party in the car park at the 24-hour fast-food outlet at 12.55am.

Police were called to the scene after receiving several 000 calls regarding the large disturbance.

Police prosecutor Mick O'Rourke stated that the large brawl was "truly affray" and despite being the minority group, the defendants "won".

A participant from the opposing party was knocked unconscious.

Magistrate Russell Warfield fined both Cooke and Wilson $1000 each for their involvement, without recording criminal convictions.
