Meet The Block newbies making their TV debuts tonight

A DOZEN enthusiastic wannabe renovators will make their debuts on The Block Triple Threat tonight.

The six new teams include several chippies, a brother and sister, a no-nonsense Gold Coast mum and two selfie-loving cousins.

But don't get too attached to any of the new teams just yet. Only half of them will make it on to The Block proper.

The teams will compete in a series of elimination challenges in an ageing Caroline Street unit block in South Yarra before coming face-to-face with the show's three returning teams: Bec and George (Sky High), Matt and Kim (Sky High) and Dee and Darren (Glasshouse).

Dan Reilly, who competed in the fifth and sixth seasons with his partner Dani Wales, also returns as site foreman Keith Schleiger's assistant, or "foreboy".

Ebony and Luke, WA

THESE siblings from Busselton look like they have a good sense of humour, if their audition video is anything to go by. They're the show's first brother and sister team. Ebony, 23, is an interior designer while her older brother Luke, 28, is a chippie. Ebony runs Busselton Interiors with her business partner, and says unlike a couple she and Luke know "when we need to leave each other alone".

Jess and Ayden, Qld

WITH HER no-nonsense approach, and motherly management of her "third child"/partner Ayden, Jess is tipped to be the new Dee of the series. The Gold Coast parents auditioned for the show in the hopes of winning money to build their dream home on the property they own in Maudsland in the Gold Coast hinterland. Ayden, 30, is a self-employed cabinet maker while Jess, 31 is a sales manager at her family's souvenir shop.

Josh and Charlotte, NSW

IF SHE can make food look mouth-watering for magazines, then one would assume food stylist Charlotte will be on top of the latest interior decorating trends as well. She creates grazing tables, whatever those are, for photo shoots and catering. She and boyfriend "Josho", a chippie, are from Manly. The 25-year-olds have been dating for five years.

Tim and Anastasia, SA

ADELAIDE parents Tim and Anastasia are the oldest couple on the show, but they might also be the hardest working. Tim, 40, and Anastasia, 38, met on a dating site and have been married for four years. Their blended family, Tim's two sons and Anastasia's daughter, is used to the renovation game. The couple has already renovated a house together in Adelaide, and in a very short amount of time too.

Brooke and Aimee, VIC

THESE two women have a lot of work ahead of them if they think they're the next Alisa and Lysandra. The Melbourne cousins could have an advantage over the other teams if they put their local knowledge to good use. Brooke, 21, is a mum while Aimee, 27 is a 000 call operator. They will have to rely on tradies though, with Aimee admitting to having more experience dating tools than using them. They have a hobby that should come in handy (furniture refinishing) and they also love to take selfies.

Jess (JJ) and Mark, NSW

ON PAPER these two seem like they have great skills for a show like The Block. Jess, 27, is a property developer, so surely she can suss out the South Yarra market, while Mark, 35, is a landscaper. The couple, who met at a bar, are also from Manly. As die-hard Block fans they know they'll need to "roll with the punches". Because there is another Jess on the show, this Jess has been nicknamed JJ.

The Block Triple Threat debuts tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 9/WIN.
