BITS Oval was covered with eager youngsters who were looking to impress Bulls Master Lee Carseldine on Friday night.

While the talented former first class cricketer was a hit among the youngsters, there were some bigger hits that were made to all parts of the ground.

One of the coaches who was also present was Peter Shepherd and he said Carseldine's visit and the whole Bulls Masters concept has given local cricket a boost.

"The kids are getting a lot of good coaching and the levels of participation are getting better," Shepherd said.

Meanwhile The Glen are through to the A-grade grand final next Sunday after thrashing Yaralla by 151 runs.

It sets up an enthralling match against Brothers.

Glen captain Jason Seng made 99 to continue his superb form and Liam Kirk struck 82. Sam Lowry then did the damage with 6-12.

Brothers defeated BITS reserves with Nathan Cobb the star making 54.

The other reserve grade match saw The Glen (2-54) chase down Yaralla's small total.

No results were submitted to the Observer before deadline last night from yesterday's three B-grade matches

The reserve and B-grade competitions have also 50-over grand finals next Sunday with times and venues yet to be confirmed.
