Italian tourist proposes marriage on Fraser Island

AN ITALIAN man has used the beautiful coastline of World Heritage-listed Fraser Island to propose to his long-time girlfriend.

On board a Tasman Venture day trip in Hervey Bay, Luca Marsiglia and Beatrice Rizzo were able to spend a moment alone on a secluded beach at Wathumba Creek before Mr Marsiglia got down on one knee.

"Throughout our holiday I was anxiously waiting for the right moment to ask the question and once I saw the west coast of Fraser Island on our tour with Tasman Venture, I knew this was the place to ask Beatrice to marry me," Mr Marsiglia said.

Ms Rizzo said yes.

Kate Ernst from Tasman Venture said it was exciting to play a part in their special day.

"We have had a few marriage proposals on board over the years and thankfully they have all been accepted to date," she said.
