Markets get people out and about for fun and bargains

PEOPLE still have two hours to get down to the PCYC Markets on Yarroon St.

If they're as busy as yesterday's first Beach, Arts Music (BAM) markets for the season, people are in for a treat.

There was plenty of talent on both stages yesterday at Tannum Sands' Millenium Esplanade as solo teenage acts dominated the open mic with some great sounds, and families took over the grassed areas with blankets and deck chairs in front of the main stage.

While some of the vendors thought it was a quieter day, there was plenty to do out and about in Gladstone yesterday.

Monday's Observer will have a full wrap of the races and Gladstone Speedway, as well as the rest of the weekend sport.

Head down to the PCYC Markets at 56 Yarroon St for a variety of stalls including fruit and veg, food including gluten free options, herbal teas, clothing, hand-made knitted goods, soy candles and much more.

Don't go past the entrance without seeing what sweet delights the roller derby girls are selling.
