Mark Steketee named in Brisbane Heat squad

WARWICK fast bowler Mark Steketee could line up alongside international cricket legends Andrew Flintoff and Dan Vettori tomorrow, after being named in a 13-man squad for the Brisbane Heat's opening BBL04 match against the Sydney Thunder.

Steketee, who took six wickets at an average of 18.83 in the Big Bash League last season, has been included along with fellow pacemen Ryan Duffield and Cameron Gannon, although the Heat will have other other medium and fast bowling options through all-rounders Dan Christian, James Hopes and Flintoff.

Australian limited-overs fast bowler Ben Cutting was left out of the squad, still recovering from a groin injury.

If included in the final 11, Steketee could bowl to Thunder batsmen Mike Hussey and Jacques Kallis, considered two cricketing legends themselves.

The match will be shown on Southern Cross Ten from 6pm.
