Many feel weight of the Boulder Steel creditors verdict

IT won't only be investors who are waiting with baited breath to find the result of the creditors meeting on Thursday for Boulder Steel, which went into administration last week.

There will also be a vast number of construction workers in our city who were hoping to move on to that project once their contracts expired on the LNG plants.

The construction workforce for the proposed steel plant was massive, and so was the operation workforce, which would have kept many local people in employment for a considerable time.

Now, with the possible demise of the project they may have to look elsewhere, in another region, for work.

This will have a significant effect on our workforce, and on all of the ancillary businesses which operate because of these large projects.

It is to be hoped that there will be a positive solution and the project gets a green light from somewhere - and quickly - so that people are not left in limbo, wondering what their next move might be.
