Dad tells police: 'I'll fight you, I'm from Woorabinda'

"I'LL FIGHT you, I'm from Woorabinda."

That is what David Noel Harrison told police as he shaped up in a fighting stance following a large alcohol-fuelled disturbance at the Rockhampton riverbank on March 17.

It is also what landed him in Rockhampton Magistrates Court and with a $500 fine today.

Police prosecutor Clancy Fox told the court police were called to the disturbance, which involved a number of people, at 6.50pm when the 36-year-old father-of-seven confronted them and wrapped a piece of cloth around his fist.

"He was drunk and being silly," defence lawyer Shayne Studdert told the court. Harrison pleaded guilty to one count of public nuisance.

Magistrate Cameron Press warned Harrison he was at risk of being sent to prison.

"It's rather stupid sir because you are at risk of going to jail," he said.
