Man taken to Toowoomba Hospital after snake bite

A MAN was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital in a serious condition this afternoon after he was bitten on the hand by a snake. 

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman has confirmed the man was on a property southwest of Toowoomba when the incident occurred.

The Courier Mail reports the property was on Lees Lane in Brookstead and the snake was a red-bellied black snake.

The man's hands were reportedly bandaged when paramedics arrived but his condition is said to have worsened,
